Illinois Tech and Trimble have partnered to make accessible the innovation technology and resources developed by Trimble to support the Illinois Tech community.
Lab Director
Dr. Ivan Mutis
Associate Professor Director at Trimble Technology Lab Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago, IL 60616, USA
Partnership Opportunities
The Partnership will engage students with technological advancements to enable a rapid transfer of state-of-the-art knowledge. Opportunities that complement and enhance the Trimble Technology Lab include
Undergraduate and Graduate Courses
All undergraduate and graduate programs offer courses in a variety of subjects that may benefit from Trimble software and hardware.
Summer Program
The CAEE department offers Certificate Programs that typically consist of 9 to 12 credit hours of coursework. These programs are designed to provide knowledge in specialized areas within academic disciplines.
Professional Certificates
The CAEE department offers Certificate Program that typically consist of 9 to12 credit hours of coursework. The Certificate Programs are designed to provide knowledge in a specialized area within an academic discipline.
Inter-Professional Projects Program (IPRO)
IPRO is an interdisciplinary project-based course designed to achieve a defined set of learning objectives and to serve undergraduate students in fulfilling their six-credit-hour general education requirement. Students have the opportunity to showcase their work each semester at IPRO Day (attended by alumni, faculty, staff, potential employers, and university leadership).
Research Opportunities
Research Sponsorship
The faculty at Illinois Tech is deeply involved in research activities. Approximately half of the students in the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering are graduate students pursuing Master's and Doctoral degrees.
Research Facilities
iConsense Laboratory
Burton and Erma Lewis Construction Engineering and Management Laboratory
The Advanced Computing, Informatics, Sensing, and Semantics Technologies for Civil and Construction Engineering Laboratory (iConsense) hosts collaborative research that contributes to applications of information technology and theory development for the Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Facility Management (AEC/FM) domains.
Inaugurated on May 5, 2000, the Lewis Lab was made possible through a generous gift by Burton A. Lewis (CE '48) and was matched by the Krehbiel Challenge and later by the Pritzker/Galvin Challenge. The laboratory contains meeting facilities, the GIS lab, and workspace for research and teaching assistants.
